The pleasing symmetrical design is rendered beautifully in basso- and mezzo-relievo carving and is a striking decorative piece in its own right but, as depicted, can be alternated with panels of the traditional palmette design to create a flowing, continuous frieze suitable for display in interior or exterior settings.
